Brief Description of GMBA Modules Learning Outcomes:

Marketing Management - The main objectives of the course are to strengthen students’ understanding of how marketing contributes to business strategy and firm performance, and to equip them with an effective marketing toolkit. A further objective is to help students strengthen the conceptual, technical and interpersonal skills that managers need to communicate effectively in the business world. The objectives above are achieved through the combined and integrated application of both lectures (designed to discuss the relevant marketing concepts and methods) and case study analysis, which will provide a context in which to apply these concepts and methods
Organizational Behavior - As you find yourself in the vast milieu of organizational society social, economic, religious, educational, political, or service there are a variety of roles you may choose to assume. Regardless of your formal "assignment" as a manager, project leader, subordinate, task force member, customer or consultant, you must continually decide to select or reject various personal strategies. First, you may deem it appropriate to adapt and conform to all norms and policies you perceive the organization holding. Or, you may be more selective and identify only those norms and behaviors which you feel are important to the accomplishment of some objective and disregard the others. Thirdly, you might choose to improve the organization from anywhere you may happen to find yourself in at any given moment. And lastly, your opposition may be so strong that you set about to leave the organization or withdraw
Financial Management- Upon completion of this course, the student will: have a deeper understanding of the connection between financial theory and practice, i.e. Risk and Return, Capital Budgeting, Capital Structure, and be able to synthesize, interpret and communicate complex ideas.

Operation & Project Management - This graduate level course combines management theory with the quantitative methods that support the optimization of those processes that create value and operate under constrained resources. Students should gain an understanding of the concept of “value” and the role it plays in each step of the total process diagram. Upon completion, students should be able to confidently discuss topics such as:
1. the process of converting inputs to outputs with value added, for both manufacturing and service organizations.
2. the quantitative procedures of operations management including forecasting models, inventory models, and statistical process control
3. the analytical techniques and approaches, from describing a problem, extracting , evaluating and making use of significant data for taking sound decisions to finally present and defend a solution. The relationship of the production organization to marketing, finance and engineering.
Communication & Negotiation Skills - The intention is for the students to be able to effectively communicate in order to promote constructive cooperation in business (Allocation of Tasks, Criticism, Counselling/Coaching). Successfully negotiate in tough business encounters (Distributive Negotiation). Identify, create and seize opportunities in complex business deals (Integrative Negotiation). Work on their weak points as well as know and build on their communicative strengths.
Managerial Economics -. The goal is for the student to be able to understand and use microeconomic concepts to perform industry and demand analysis, understand the advantages of using marginal units to analyze costs and revenues, understand that demand is responsible for the firm’s revenues but the firm is restricted in exploiting it, understand that firms face restrictions in setting their price; even monopolies can’t set the highest price, understand that the cost side is more amenable to managerial action and how it is the basis for supply, understand the distinctions between the 4 market structures: perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly and monopoly.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation - Identify and determine what entrepreneurs need to know about the critical driving forces in a new venture success. Identify how successful entrepreneurs and investors create, find and differentiate profitable and durable opportunities from just other good ideas, and how opportunities evolve over time. Evaluate and determine how successful entrepreneurs and investors create and build value for themselves, and others. Identify and determine the necessary financial and non-financial resources available for new ventures, identify the criteria they use to screen and evaluate proposals, their attractiveness and risk, and how to obtain start-up and early growth capital. Determine the critical tasks to be accomplished, the hurdles to be overcome during start-up and early growth, and what has to happen to succeed. Apply a computerized spreadsheet program to develop and analyze financial projections for start-up ventures time; options that are precluded or preserved; and the nastier minefields and pitfalls one has to anticipate, prepare for and respond to. Determine decisions that can be made to increase the reward to risk ratio at various stages of the company's development, and thereby change the odds. Determine what are the important factors outside the control of the founders, and how critical and sensitive the current context and timing are to all of these above issues.
